A lid lifter for cast iron. The hook on the end catches the handle of a dutch oven lid and takes it straight up off the coals, so you are never reaching a bare hand over a hot fire to move a lid. Long enough to keep your arm well clear. N.J. Pawley forges it from a single bar at Cody Iron Works in Cody, Wyoming. The shaft is twisted hot, the handle is drawn down into a horse head and the mane is chiselled in by hand, and the hook is forged and welded on last. This is a one of a kind piece. There is one, it is the one in the photographs, and the next one N.J. makes will not be the same. Part of the Cody Iron Works collection, sold by Ranch Route: you check out with us and we get it to you. Free shipping is included in the price.
