A hoof pick forged from a single horseshoe, with a horse head chiseled into the handle and the square nail slots from the old shoe left open right up the body. The steel sweeps into a long S so the handle fills your hand and the point clears the frog without you twisting your wrist. Hang it on a nail in the tack room by the hook itself and it is always where you left it. Forged by N.J. Pawley at Cody Iron Works in Cody, Wyoming, and finished in hot linseed oil. The head is cut freehand with a chisel and the nail slots land wherever the original shoe had them, so the face and the markings are different on every single pick. About 8 inches long and weighing about half a pound. Part of the Cody Iron Works collection. Made by N.J. in his one man shop, sold by Ranch Route here on Ranch Route: you check out with us and we get it to you. Free shipping is included in the price. The full Cody Iron Works selection is on his partner page, along with the story of the forge.
